Welcome to Machkhowa Degree College

Machkhowa, with green vegetation and fascinating climate is a hut of cultured and educated people located at the southern part of Dhemaji District. It constitutes about 16.4% of total geographic area i.e 3237 sq. kms and 11.4 % of total population of Dhemaji District.

People are very pleasant and sober keeping aside the diverse caste and culture. Sitting under the same umbrella, under the intricate divine inspiration, the people established the Machkhowa Degree College in 1984. Since then the institution has become the lone premier institution of higher education in the flood prone backward rural area of Machkhowa and having 25 years of survival with a lot of struggle and sacrifice from enthusiastic people, students and teachers. The college has been recognized by U.G.C under 2(F) and 12(B) for its infrastructure development. The College is provincialised by Govt. of Assam. Under Assam Venture Educational Institutions (Provincialisation of Service) Act-2011.

Principal Message

At the very beginning, on behalf of the Management and the staff of Machkhowa Degree College my hearty welcome goes to you all.

Over the period since 1984, our college has grown into an institution of significant stature and we are trying to offer to meet up, the student demands. Moreover we are trying to facilitate a vast range of study options to widen the knowledge, awareness and outlook of our students.

Objectives of the College

The institution is framed to solve the chronic problems of the locality by imparting education to the rural people and to create common consciousness about human and animal rights. The main objectives are reflected in the plans, programmers and activities conducted by the college. The major objectives of the institution has been set as follows:
